Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Ibarra.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Frank. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We started kicks101 five years ago mainly because I wanted to be involved with my son and his friends on the things they like, in our case sneakers, I wanted to provide them with an outlet that would keep them focus and out of trouble. So many of our kids want to be a part of a group , click and that’s how they end up in gangs , so we decided by getting them involved with a sneaker show it would keep them focus and occupied giving them no time to be out in the streets or hanging out with the wrong crowd. We have just completed our fifth year doing sneaker shows and we are very proud and humble of the reception we had from our local supporters. The attendance has been great, we have surpassed our expectations and we have donated all of our profits to KICKS FOR KIDS. Which is our foundation that focus on the Dallas youth / students. 5 years ago we started working with DISD and a school in Oak Cliff (Winnetka Elementary 1151 south Edgefield av. Dallas Texas. 75208. 972-749-5100) to provide brand new shoes for under privileged students. In our 5 years of existence we have provided over 350 pairs of brand new sneakers to 350 students, On top of the work we have with DISD we also provided 300 meals for 300 homeless individuals in thanksgiving last year and adopted two families for Xmas and provided them with meals, gifts and sneakers for the entire family. We are committed to help our community and especially our youth.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was difficult at the beginning. People doubting our charity. Struggling to raise awareness has been our biggest challenge.

Kicks101 is a sneaker and apparel show, it is a buy / trade / sell event. We hosted and sneaker collectors and vendors bring their merchandise to sell. What sets us apart from other shows is that we donate all our profits to our community especially our youth.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
YES!!!! Dallas is a great city for our business and really any business in general, Dallas it’s growing by the day and that is attracting big corporations therefore plenty of business.
