Today we’d like to introduce you to Frankie (Lynn) Moon.
Frankie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My husband aunt had open a basket store in Greenville S.C. About 30 years ago, my hubby was in the army and while he was in Europe getting us a house, I decided to help his aunt out at her store. From making bows to stuffing gift baskets. In 2004, I started work at Winestyles as there manager. The wine store also needs gift baskets. I started making them. Later, like six years later, they closed down in flower mound Texas. I thought wow maybe I should do this for me. Going forward in 2017 – I opened up Basketsbyfrankielynn in my home. I won Best of Denton county two years in a row. My son a wounded warrior soldier and he makes me custom leather key chains. For every basket sold, we give back to the wounded warrior project.
My hubby now helps me with engraving, and custom cutting boards, patches, etc. we are a family that works hard together.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Has it been a smooth road? No, of course not, all business have bumps in the road. I had to figure out where I was gonna make these baskets in my house. I decided the kitchen was the best place. My kitchen can be a wreck at times. That’s the joys of owning your business.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Basketsbyfrankielynn story. Tell us more about the business.
We do custom gift baskets with your budget. I go out and shop for you, put those things in the basket. You tell me a little something about your client and then, I add the things they need for their baskets.
