Meet Frankie Valdez of Frankie V’s Kitchen in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frankie Valdez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been feeding people since I was 15 years old. I have always enjoyed cooking, especially being raised by two amazing cooks, my mother and father, who always said their special ingredient was love. After many years of feeding, friends, family, colleagues, and clients, I moved from a successful 30 year IT and Telecom career into food manufacturing. I started with all Organic Hot Sauces, Salsas and Nut Butters. After a strategic acquisition we moved quickly into soups, salad dressings, drinks, marinades… etc shortly after that we launched private label and co-packing services. Inside of 5 years we went from one employee to 90 employees and close to 80,000 square feet of manufacturing facility. Our motto is “Healthy food that taste great, at a reasonable price.” We pride ourselves in all natural, organic, and non-gmo, clean label products. Cooking and feeding people is one of my true passions. I never get tired of making new products that are healthy and taste great!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been long, but if you love what you do, and are truly passionate about it, the struggles don’t seem to be that bad. The hardest thing that we have faced is managing the exponential growth, but those are good problems to have.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We make clean label, organic, non-gmo products (Soups, salad dressings, hot sauces, salsas, marinades, and drink mixes) with no artificial preservatives for both retail and food service. We have our own line of Frankie V’s Kitchen products as well as we co-pack and private label for other clients. What we are proud of is what also sets us apart, that we have never compromised on ingredients, we make the highest quality, healthiest products at a reasonable price.

What were you like growing up?
I was diagnosed as being hyperactive at a very young age. Fortunately, my parents saw it has a positive not a negative and spent my entire childhood teaching me to learn how to use it to my advantage. My father instilled at a very young age, a very strong work ethic and a mentality with hard work, dedication and passion, you can make all your dreams come true. He told me to be truly successful, you to find something that you love so much, that you would do it for free and it wouldn’t seem like work. I grew up in a very positive, loving, family environment, which I am grateful for every day of my life. I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it weren’t for my mother and fathers unconditional love, teachings, and belief in me.
