Today we’d like to introduce you to Gee Felder.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Gee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Hi! : ) I was born and raised in Berlin, Germany, where I grew up in all kinds of sports. I was a competitive gymnast, trained in boxing/kickboxing for several years and eventually started taking dance classes when I was 16.
Although I started dance at a very late age, this is where I flourished the most.
I spent 15 years of my life performing all over the globe, such as Spain, Italy, France, Turkey, South Africa, USA, Dominican Republic, and Portugal to name a few. As a professional commercial dancer and model, my performances involved artistically choreographed dances designed to highlight a brand, product or corporations’ services.
Some of my print campaigns include Nike, Adidas, Cabelas, Gold’s Gym, Smirnoff and JC Penney.
Doors began to open into the music artist industry dancing for National and International Recording Artists such as Katy Perry, Nelly, FloRida, Keri Hilson, Lou Bega, David Hasselhoff, and Panjabi MC.
From all of my experiences what I have enjoyed most were “danced fashion shows”. This is a combination of traditional runway models and professional dancers who showcase the newest fashion trends. These shows were artistically created in a choreographed stage/runway performances.
Has it been a smooth road?
About five years ago, I moved to Dallas, Texas. It was a bit challenging for me that I needed to drive a car to get from A to B or to just go grocery shopping. I grew up in Berlin City and also resided in NYC. You just dont need to drive a car in these cities. You take a bus or the subway. I met and interacted with hundreds of people on a daily basis. That is what I really miss here in Dallas. Just walking down the street with crowds of people. Hearing LIFE. You know what I mean?!?
It took me about three years to get used to Dallas and fall in love with it.
My biggest challenge has been adjusting to a more corporate-driven market.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Evance Concepts – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
At Evance Concepts I develop tailor-made show concepts suitable for brands, events or businesses. My clients are shopping malls, automobile manufacturers, business seminars, anniversaries, conferences, and brands that have products which need to be represented in a unique and unforgettable way.
I choreograph traditional fashion shows and danced fashion shows. I would say that my danced fashion shows set me apart from others. I combine walking choreography with dance choreography. These danced fashion shows are very popular in Europe. I recently produced a couple of danced fashion shows for Lorna Jane which is an activewear brand from Australia. The Return On Investment for Lorna Jane exceeded well beyond their expectations and the audience was thoroughly entertained by my new and fresh concept.
I would love to expand my database of clients to provide them with an unforgettable experience while placing their brand center stage.
What I am proud of most is being a gal from Berlin, Germany, moving to a completely different country and accomplishing a dream to build a company that would allow me to create and produce my own shows. This has allowed me to support clients and professional talents. Which I am extremely grateful for.
I can give other talents the opportunity to live their dreams. I was so blessed with my career and I always wanted to help others to achieve their dreams.
Commerce, banks, insurance companies and automobile manufacturers. Whether at product presentations, press conferences, galas or anniversaries, my team brings brand messages to life.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas is more conservative and very family-oriented. Which I absolutely love and appreciate now since I have a 4-year-old son. : )
What I like the least is actually NOT the hot summers but rather needing to drive everywhere, lol.
Besides creating show concepts, I am teaching choreography dance classes, cardio fitness classes and hold model workshops for aspiring models. I am also launching a new dance format for couples which is called “COUPLE’S DANCE THERAPY” with Keith Green and myself. This new format is designed for married couples or seriously “boo’d up” couples who want to have fun, have a special kind of date, or simply want to relight the candle in their marriage/relationship. No matter if you have never danced before or have been dancing your whole life. This different kind of therapy class will guarantee you the time of your life with your loved one.
