Today we’d like to introduce you to George Apodaca.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey as a creative began in 2011, after a few years working in the telecom industry. I had a strong passion for technology and always had to be at the forefront of the latest and greatest. I was always engulfed in pushing the limits of what was possible with the newest phone tech.
During this time, my friend’s Dad had just opened up a one-of-a-kind paintball/ATV business, so I thought– how cool would it be to strap my sweet new smartphone to a helmet and make an uber cool video to help get the word out. I knew nothing about editing video, but I had a shiny new MacBook that needed to be put to work. I created a 30-second video using iMovie, and his Dad was floored.
From there I was hooked. I hit the youtube-sphere and wanted to learn everything I could about creating kick a** paintball videos. I invested in a couple of GoPros, an entry-level DSLR and went to work creating videos for his business. It became an instant passion for me. Within two years, I took the leap and quit my full-time job to pursue my new dream of being a filmmaker, storyteller and creative entrepreneur.
The last five and a half years have been quite a ride. I’ve had the pleasure of traveling the world with my camera telling amazing stories and meeting amazing people. We are now a team of four and have produced content for some of the most prestigious brands in the world. I can’t imagine where I would be today if I never made that leap.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business is never easy. Some of my biggest challenges have been my greatest triumphs. One of the biggest hurdles came at the beginning of my journey when I decided to leave what I thought would be my life-long career.
Not only did I have my doubts, but my family and friends were certainly wary themselves. I constantly asked myself– how can I be successful running a business in an industry I knew very little about? With the help of hard work, persistence, and a very supporting wife, I’ve been able to not only grow myself but grow my business.

Arcpoint Studios is built on the foundation of story, purpose, partnership, and passion. We are a full-service video production agency that is focused on visual storytelling, branded content creation, and digital experiences.
We strongly believe story is one of the greatest inventions. It connects people and drives them to act. We’ve been blessed to work with some amazing brands in some amazing places. One of our favorite narratives to-date is helping a local 2-person startup propel into a multi-million dollar company with over 20 employees.
We continue to partner with them today to create all of their branded content. As a creative partner, we work with brands who want to stand for something, not just say something. That is what sets us apart.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
It’s tough to pinpoint just one favorite memory. I was an adventurous and fearless child. Some of my favorite memories come from my grandparent’s house in El Paso. I used to make that place my personal jungle gym.
One minute I would be in the backyard climbing on transmissions and into old bathtubs (my grandfather was an avid collector of random old treasures), the next I would be making a fort in the living room and getting tattled on by my sister for bothering her.
My parents would come to pick us up after work, and my Grandmother would make the most amazing meal before we all left. We’d all sit around the dinner table and recap how I got in trouble that day. Those are the memories I will always treasure.
