Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hartman.
Jennifer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
While living in New York City “Upper East Side” I always found it very challenging to find us you that fit me properly and covered up my imperfection areas. I found myself going to Barney’s New York or Bloomingdale’s not finding exactly what I was looking for, I am bustier on top and small on the bottom so I found myself purchasing two suits and I was never completely happy with how they fit and they did not cover the areas of my concern. So I start designing my own suits for my personal use and found myself having people come up to me in the Hamptons and Mexico where we had at homes asking where they could purchase the suit.
So that was the start of Gianella swimwear, I named the company after my six-year-old daughter because her name means “grace of God”. After moving to Dallas from New York City I want to make this hobby into a career. Gianella swimwear is produced in Dallas Texas all American made products.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would not call it a struggle, I would call it a learning curve with every new business there’s always a little bump in the road. But overall it has been amazing
Gianella Swimwear – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our suits are all American made with the top quality fabrics. I am proud that a small-town girl from Uniontown Pennsylvania with lots of dreams and aspirations was able to succeed in the fashion industry. Gianella swimwear is made for real women especially mothers who wants to feel beautiful and amazing in their own skin that too sexy not too revealing but very classy
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I was in Miami Florida with my children last summer by the pool and a woman had my suit on and just looked absolutely gorgeous. My van five-year-old daughter noticed and said mommy look she has Gianella swimwear on. My daughter proceeded to walk over and point out that she is Gianella.
