Today we’d like to introduce you to GiGi Thomas.
GiGi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started with a company I started back in 2011 in Jacksonville, FL called No Days off Entertainment. We still are a talent development company specializing in public relations, graphic design, songwriting, and music production for musical talent. That later turned into hosting our own events providing a platform for artist to perform and monetize from those performances being an independent artist. In that process, I met so many people, some famous some not but all of them very knowledgable in the entertainment and media industry. That allowed me to come into my purpose which is to mentor and guide young adults to be successful. I created Thomas Talks, a brand to provide advice to those persons looking for ways to be successful. It started with a music artist but can be easily translated to any individual career or lifestyle choice at any time. Growing up, I played basketball so I also motivate young athletes as well. Essentially, I can talk about everything. Thomas Talks features talks on such topics as education, religion, social media marketing, entrepreneurship, motivation, sports, love, life and much more. I consider myself an investor of knowledge. I take what I learn from years of schooling, my own research, personal and work experiences and I pass it along to friends, family, colleagues, and business partners like yourself. I plant seeds of knowledge and I watch them grow.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road to entrepreneurship is not an easy one. I say one of my biggest struggles was listening to other people. Everybody does not have to believe in your vision for it to work. In fact, you may be the only one that truly believes in it at all. Once you get over that then everything is smooth. Also, you will get good advice and you will get bad advice you have to be good at reading BS because a lot of people will try and take advantage of you.

Thomas Talks is a self-branded gem that started in 2009 when I attended Jacksonville University and played on the Women’s Basketball team. I was the author and creator of the team blog and titled it Thomas talks. At that time, I talked about of course our basketball games and adventures as a team. Thomas Talks has now been resurrected. The revamped Thomas Talks Blog is now my new universal platform for speaking on several topics that have a direct impact on my life and others. Thomas Talks features a plethora of topics such as education, police brutality, religion, social media marketing, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, motivation, sports, love, life and more. Currently, I use my online blog to deliver my message. Thomas Talks is working on an online radio platform that will launch in 2020. This fall, you can look forward to Small Business Social-Networking Events in the Dallas Metroplex along with Small Business Start-up Workshops.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Dallas is the next Hollywood. I recommend anyone in social media marketing, and digital advertising to invest in a career in Dallas and network to build clientele. The need for small business support is growing because Dallas has become the hub location for a lot of major companies Head Quarters as well as the home base for most startups.
