Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Mitts
Hi Gina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started HHWM in 2020 with a passion to pursue a greater relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ but I felt in order to not faint in the process I needed to gather accountability partners with the same passion and desire I had. So we started with 12 women reading biblical based books and we would talk about the lesson once a month. Since then we all have grown so much in our prayer life as well as our relationship with Christ. We have had over 40 women join our program and some of those women are still with us today.
Now we are doing outreach as well in our community.
We started our outreach program with the Adopt an apartment initiative.
With a passion to meet the needs within our capacity and provide resources that can help the people we come in contact with.
Through the four years we have been able through the women of Higher Heights Women’s Ministry as well as family and friends, organizations such as Kroger, Aldi, Compass Bank to provide school supplies , groceries, turkeys for the holiday’s and Christmas gifts for kids in ages of 1 to 16
We have truly been blessed
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, Losing your accountability partners was the hardest and most hurtful.
Starting with a team and your members decides to throw in the towel and your the only one left holding the ball can be very scary and uncomfortable but I learned through every test that the assignment was greater.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is Higher Heights Beauty Salon “ where beauty meets ministry is located in Arlington, Texas Formally known as compliments cuts, and styles. I have been in the beauty industry for over 36 years. I specialize in relaxed and natural hair. We changed our name in 2024 Inspired by the service in the salon becoming more of an experience. With each client God was doing something amazing with each client. When the overwhelming responses became “oh I’m not just coming to get my hair done. I’m also coming because I know I’m gonna leave with something I need for my spirit. That made me understand that this is ministry!
I think that’s what sets us apart from others.
It’s also located in a retirement home and the residents there say I thought I was here to get my hair done and I feel like I just left Bible study !
The clients love it and I believe that everyone sent there is by one reason only. Devine appointment .
My assignment is Higher Heights Women’s Ministry. It’s been a joy to experience elevation through partnership with Christ. What make us different from others is the discipleship and accountability that come with our program.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
For business, that my customers are satisfied.
And I make a positive impression that will last
For HHWM, that lives are changed by the example that is set before them. In order for others to change they must see a change in you. My passion is impacting lives through the transformation of God word.
To see a life changed is what matters most to me
