Today we’d like to introduce you to Giovanni Medellin.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Giovanni. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began my journey at Prairie View A&M University. I joined an organization known as Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. and we needed flyers for different events throughout our campus. We did not have a designated graphic designer, so I picked up the task and attempted to make my first flyer. It was not the best flyer, but it was the beginning of my journey. I continued to watch videos and study under other graphic designers in efforts to get better with photoshop. Over time, my creativity took over, and my designs began to gain the attention of others. I picked my brand name “GioGraphXdesigns” because my nickname is Gio and graphXdesigns sounds like Graphic Designs. Over time, people and other organizations began to ask for flyers and designs, so I kick started my own graphic design business building my portfolio design at a time.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. There are days where I have projects and can’t come up with any good ideas at that moment. I sit it out and come back to it later when I think of something. Sometimes, I would even have designed and my photoshop program would crash, and I would lose my progress, so I would have to start over.

GioGraphXdesigns is a business that is open to all. I make flyers, logos, clothing designs, banners or any other designs possible—I’m most known for my creative designs, adding concepts together that people would think was impossible. What sets me apart from others, I would think, is the way I display my designs for socials and customers. I showcase them in a unique way that most designers don’t do.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I was born and raised in Dallas. I love giving back to my community, and the people here are amazingly talented individuals who have a lot to show. The triple D is my home.
