Meet Giulio Ferrari of The Paw Depot in Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giulio Ferrari.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Giulio. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I live a double life, owning and running a holistic pet food store and leading a career as an investigative journalist exposing pedophiles in the Catholic Church and other cults. I myself was a victim of a serial pedophile in a spiritist cult. I carried this dark secret for 20 years until I investigated my own abuse and brought my abuser to justice. Today, we are 80 victims (and counting) of Maury Rodrigues da Cruz, 79, who is responding in court for his crimes right now. We’re on day 2 of the court hearings.

After exposing my abuser, I started a non-profit to help other victims, and I created the first and only online database for victims of serial abusers IDVICS.ORG. Through my work, we’ve gotten 12 perps indicted so far. All cold cases or cases the authorities refused to investigate until I handed them a full dossier. These are priests, mediums, uncle’s, doctors, teachers, pastors, deacons, people from several different cults.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not smooth at all. I’m diagnosed Autistic. I came from a severely dysfunctional family, mostly neglected by my parents, I was raised by a sociopathic grandmother who would grow my hair out like a girl’s because she hated the fact I was a boy, tormenting me with a weird fear of being gay since I was eight, force-feeding me until I became an obese child and beating me to the point that I couldn’t go to school the next day. At 15, I flee from her control just to fall in a cult where I was sexually abused for two years by the cult leader. My mother was his right-hand person for 20 years and had no clue. I fled Brazil at the first opportunity I found, trying to run as far as I could from my past. That opportunity came as a job in America, or what I thought was a job and ended up being an indentured servitude scam. I was 23 and had no resources. I was able to break away from that organization after six months. That was in 2003. Today, I get death threats and my extradition has been requested and denied. I live a life of uncertainty of living another day in freedom.
