Please tell us about your art.
I dance, when I dance I express myself. I feel, I breathe, I become one with nature and embrace gravity.
I teach and when I teach sometimes it’s for fun or sometimes for training. When it’s for fun you can Dance like no one is watching, you can do it to enjoy yourself. When I train I’m teaching a technique, I’m training you to become a better dancer, I’m also helping you burn calories and helping you with memory. I have a Dance team called Curvy Queenz of Dallas, this team was created for the plus size and curvy community. I wanted to create a dance environment for women who did not feel comfortable walking into a regular dance class. Curvy Queenz was created to train women to lose weight while dancing or just staying fit burning calories. This team teaches the Plus size and Curvy ladies to embrace their beauty and to not focus on weight or how you look. Curvy Queenz dance team trains you to dance if you are a beginner and have a desire to step outside the box and try something new, the ladies get to perform, compete and explore the dance world while meeting new people gaining new friendships and learning to love themselves. Curvy Queenz of Dallas dance team also wants to show the world that “Dance has no size” that’s the team MOTTO.

I teach a fun class called “Groovin with Gladys” every Wednesday at 7:30pm at Power House of Dance the Dallas location I teach a class called Curvy Queenz on Sundays at 3pm for plus size and curvy women at Power House of Dance Dallas location I have “Groovin with Gladys” workshops for more details you can check my Facebook or IG for those events.

What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I think artist/entrepreneurs have a better shot today than in the recent years. There are so much more outlets for Artists/Entrepreneurs to use. The biggest tool is Social Media you can show your work, get support from family and friends and it’s out there for the whole world to see, you have the opportunity to be seen to be heard and to be discovered. If you are talented, if you have dreams, if you have goals, go after them use your gifts someone somewhere is waiting for you. Cities can support or continue to support these talented people help bring them to life.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
