We at Proletas make a high-protein ice cream bar with up to 31 grams of protein per bar!
We believe in health and wellness, and our Proleta bars are made as a post-workout treat that supports your muscles and fitness and positively reinforces exercise.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been an interesting journey so far! Creating a new and niche product that also has pretty demanding temperature control issues almost guarantees some “challenges” along the way.
Just a few examples would include learning about just how fickle Texas weather can be (and how that affects how much/how little Proletas can produce) and finding the best venues to get these goodies into the world.

Proletas – High Protein Ice Cream Bars grew from my desire to have a better tasting and more enjoyable post-workout snack.
My two standard post-workouts were either a shaker cup of protein powder or Greek yogurt. And on one hot spring day, neither one of those sounded great. But God and the universe spoke, and I listened this time and decided to make a protein ice cream bar! Our kids were the metric on taste, and once they said they were good, we decided to feel this out and see where it would go.
We are still a relatively young and small brand, and we cater to the CrossFit crowd, who are typically a great community. Our bars can be found in many gyms and supplement shops across the DFW metroplex.
I’m most proud of this brand in that we have taken something from an idea to a real product to an actual viable business. We make a great-tasting and protein-packed bar, and I’m proud of the way that it tastes and the way that it makes people feel when they eat it.
The smiles and happiness on their faces are awesome, and knowing that the Proletas ice cream that they are eating is helping them meet their fitness goals is amazing.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from growing up.
The one that comes to mind right now would be exploring the outdoors with my friends. I remember climbing down into creekbeds and woods, just hiking and being outside, and loving nature like only a kid can.
