

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heath Hill.
Heath, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in Garland and mowed lawns to pay my way thru Baylor. After graduating from Baylor, I was managing 100 plus lawns and begin to landscape and irrigate properties. I also started buying real estate and at one time had over 100 properties.
14 years ago, I sold my landscape business and started Lime Media. I started Lime in 2005 and struggled until God gave me a vision and my wife a dream which changed the course of our business forever. Ten plus years later we have officially caught a gear and are doing some of the best work in the industry.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We got down to our last $3,000 dollars after sinking $500,000 into the business before we caught a gear. I did not come from the advertising business so I had to learn it on the fly and that has been tough.
Managing growth has been challenging b/c it seems you always have to take the step and the results follow. It is typically not the other way around.
Adding new elements and services has been challenging as well, b/c there are so many new learnings. The learnings are also my favorite part of the business as its never the same. Early on it was hard to get funding.
Please tell us about Lime Media.
Lime Media is a hybrid Out-Of-Home advertising and experiential marketing services company that works with agencies to provide visually dynamic and immersive consumer engagement programs in a variety of locations and environments.
We are the largest sampling company for McDonald’s in North America. We have reached over $15m in sales. Our culture is strong, and people encourage one another and want good things for each other.
We have shared the word of God every Tuesday from 12p-1p for any employees that want to come, and currently more than half of our staff attend. We have given away close to $1m dollars since 2015.
We have over 100 assets that we can lease and be quick to market along with 20 fabricators that can do A to Z on custom builds for purchase. We also activate what we create which makes us unique.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would probably change nothing, but if I had to pick something, I would have worked for several other companies in the space so I could have learned the business quicker.
I also learned CAN’T is not an option it takes just as much time to figure out a solution. QUIT is not an option or part of our vocabulary. PERSEVERANCE always will get you where you want to go . . . eventually.
When everyone else works eight hours I will work ten b/c it only takes a little more work to be in the top 1%.
