Today we’d like to introduce you to Heaven McConvillle.
Hi Heaven, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It started with drive, the drive to be more and to be my own to have something of creative independence. I went to hairschool when i was in highschool i had moved out fairly early around 10th-1th grade and worked waitress jobs until i could finish. Originally i was going to use this profession to have a better way to work through college but once i found myself in the industry i completely lost myself in the amount of individualism and big personalities, making relationships with my clients, and the likeminded people in my field. i’ve now been in this for 8 years and couldn’t be happier and i can’t wait to see what the future has in store.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
i personally moved out at an early age after a extremely rough childhood, one of the only ones in my line to have something of a degree or title, me and my older sister supported each other from teenagers till now to work from the trenches to a better and honest way of life, i moved to texas alone from my home state in hopes to be able to expand my knowledge and experience of people and after almost 5 1/2 years of working in texas i have found an amazing culture in fort worth im happy to have be the backbone of my entrepreneurial journey
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a barber of 8 years, working in men’s hair and fading i specialize in curly hair, mullets, and TEXTURE. I would say my work sets me apart but i feel like the relationships i’ve made have set me apart the most, my clients mean the world to me i couldn’t be prouder of the amazing support of people that keep me going and inspired
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
One of the most important qualities i believe to success in this industry is the willingness to learn and use that knowledge. This industry is forever changing and being able to always remember there is more to be learned and knowing and remembering your clients will take you so much further, this is a people industry and as much as it can be it’s amazing to see the people you meet. The biggest characteristics i’ve found? stay kind. stay humble.
