Today we’d like to introduce you to Hebreb Morales.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Hebreb. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, it all started in middle school when friends of mine were wearing their pairs of Air Jordans, at the time my parents would buy me sneakers at Ross, and other discounted stores. I would not be the one wearing the newest “Jays” so one of them had showed me that the sneakers themselves had value in the secondary market so I saved up money from working jobs with my dad to purchase a pair of Air Jordans on Facebook markets and wore them to school, I saw what all the hype was about when everyone complimented me with them at school, and a classmate of mine purchased them off me for $50 more of what I originally paid, so I said to myself, “I can just keep buying sneakers, wear them and resell them for more.” So that’s exactly what I did. Kept doing that up until High School and got into the high value sneakers like the Adidas Yeezy which at the time would resell for up to thousands of dollar, my profit margins would be a lot higher and that got me enough to purchase myself my own car in high school without no help from my parents. Right after graduating High School I decided to join the Army National Guard and came back after bootcamp with enough money saved up to open up my own sneaker shop called SOLEPLIER in the North East Mall, we eventually outgrew that store and decided to move to a bigger location in the Southlake Town Square where we currently are located.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course not, as a first time business owner, I had to learn, but to learn I had to make mistakes along the way. I had to learn to create a brand that our customers can trust from the ground up. That was probably the hardest struggle, getting the word out and what we were about, and building that trust and being consistent in our operations. Thankfully we have our customers that trust in us and support us along the way.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
SOLEPLIER is a high-end boutique in which we sell the latest exclusive sneakers, and apparel like Yeezys, Supreme, BAPE, OFF-WHITE and much more, we pride ourselves in providing good customer service and a good experience for all sneakerheads who love the game/culture of fashion and streetwear.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was the type of guy that loved the latest clothes and sneakers that celebrity’s were rocking even though I did not grow up spoiled or have the funds to buy them, but I know I had to work for it, I love business. I would always find ways to make money on the side by reselling stuff whether it be sports tickets to even reselling cars on the side, I eventually fell in love with this massive sneaker culture and found my passion for it.
