Today we’d like to introduce you to Henos
Hi Henos, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been throwing events for years, ever since I was in community college all the way up to me finishing undergrad at Tech. After I graduated a close friend asked me if I’d like to start a group that throws events to bring more people together and it’s been history ever since! We’ve had the opportunity to throw events in Dallas , D.C. and Atlanta. Whether it’s collaborating with other groups or hosting concerts, the mission has always been to bring the city together in a fun way!
The work isn’t done yet, we are far from where we wanna be but still happy & blessed with the opportunities we’ve got to be apart of. We want FACES EVERYWHERE!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In Nightlife, it’s never smooth. Things are bound to happen because so many people are involved to curate a great experience. We’ve had last second no-shows, artists coming late, reservations cancel, etc.
You can’t let these things affect you when you’re striving for greatness. If I were to give up when obstacles like these occur then we would’ve stopped a long time ago. You got a roll with the punches and adapt when things don’t go your way while still making sure the experience is great for the people that support you
We’ve been impressed with FACES, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
FACES is a brand with a mission to bring out the most people in Dallas by curating experiences.
The way we plan to do that is by involving as many people to our events as possible. From the photographers/videographers, graphic designers, bartenders, hosts/artists, venues and promotors, everyone plays a role to make it a great experience. I believe we set ourselves apart because we really do mean it when we say we want our supporters to have a good experience. For example, we don’t use the same venues, promotors or artist back to back. We always want our supporters to experience something new when we decide on hosting an event.
Even now, we’ve decided to curate a new concept that will diversify the crowd by playing different genres of music for every hour that the event goes on.
What I am most proud of is that we never settle. Our main priority are our people. if we make less money because we decided to use a better venue or because we spend more on content then so be it. Nothing is worth risking the experience.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Socializing! I’ve always been the type of person to have people around me. Relationships play a big part in my life and what better way is there to socialize then to curate events dedicated to the people I love.
I owe it all to them because of the laughter and excitement I get being around them.
