Thanks for sharing your story with us Hezeleo. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m originally from Port Arthur TX, I’m known as Hezeleo in my hometown. I started my rap career there. In early 2000, I entered into a management agreement with PimpCs mom Mama Wes. I would go on to release projects and do venues in my city and the surrounding areas. After around four years in Pimp C was released from prison and offered me a role at his new venture UGK recs I was an artist and the merch man I toured with him as an opening act and the merch man.
Trill gear was started in 2000 also I branded the gear tight white that was the first designs. While on the road we would push the CDs tees hats etc. that’s how it all began.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a very interesting ride from casualties to children being born to friends and fam separating and dieing etc. but being a father of four I know I must push pass all adversities. It’s been fair but a steep climb.
Trill Gear – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The biz is called Trill Gear, its a brand I started in 2000 carrying t-shirts hats slides locs embroidered letterman jackets beanies and more. These items went well with my rap pursuit the fans would want something more than a cd so we gave it to them. We specialize in the authentic brand from the land of the Trill a word that came from my home town and from a close source to me introduced to the world by UGK. I’m proud that I’m able to seek out resources and manufactures to bring great products to my organic base of consumers. I’m always looking for companies to work with to bring forth great products.
I’m known for being an underground artist and the maker of the Premium Trill Gear Trill Hat. I have been in some very interesting places amongst people who would be looked at as super starz but I’ve always remained humbled and kept my integrity and morals and values intact. That’s one of the main things that sets me apart.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is a combination of having good health wealth and peace of mind. Success to me is being in a resourceful position to help yourself and your family and your community and culture. Also having the freedom to take care of your health and the time and space to create resourceful opportunities for your self and others.
