Meet Hollie Youngblood of Fashions of Fancy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hollie Youngblood.

Hollie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
A little bit about me… I have always dreamed of working in fashion… I grew up in Pittsburg, Texas. It’s a tiny little town in east Texas since most people haven’t heard of it. Even as a little kiddo, I would pick out my own outfits and would think about fashion 24/7! After leaving Pittsburg, I ended up with a degree in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Texas and working in public accounting. Shortly after that, I moved to Dallas in 2012.

I started my blog in the late summer of 2015 (first as a hobby) after constantly having people ask me where I got a specific item I was wearing or hearing people say they loved something I had on but that they “couldn’t pull it off”.

That’s when I had an ah-ha! moment and knew this is what I wanted to do. I want to share my outfits and beauty products to show you that you can wear whatever you like regardless of being the size of a model or not. It’s all about the confidence and wearing what truly makes you happy!

I love mixing high end and more affordable pieces to make the perfect outfit and have even branched off into having my own cosmetic line, Glamsicle, and offering styling and makeup services. Aside from Fashions of Fancy, I also am Vice President of a tax and accounting company, JLY Tax.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are always struggles with not having enough hours in the day to accomplish running several companies.

Fashions of Fancy – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Fashions of Fancy- I run the website blog and social media pages, as well as am the face of the company. I work with many different brands and companies to have content and reviews for my subscribers to follow. I stay up on the latest trends and newest products/restaurants/stores to share with my subscribers and also attend many events in the DFW area. (www.fashionsoffancy.com)

Glamsicle Cosmetics- I am the creator of this cruelty free brand that consists of lip products and eyeshadows. I work with a lab in California to develop the color selections for each product that I carry. (www.glamsicle.com)

Fashions of Fancy Styling- I work with clients to style them for events, photoshoots, or to do personal shopping to add options to their wardrobe. (http://fashionsoffancy.com/styling-services/styling-packages/)

JLY Tax- I am the Vice President of Client Services and we target creatives as clients to make having a small businesses accounting records in order a more enjoyable experience. We started this company because I saw that accountants targeting creative clients (bloggers, event planners, photographers, makeup artists, etc) was missing in the market. From discussing this with many fellow creatives and having my background in tax, I helped start JLY Tax to take care of the bookkeeping and tax needs for these clients all while keeping it a fun experience. What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, success is accomplishing your goals. I set small goals for myself on more of a monthly basis and then long-term goals for 1 year, 5 years, etc. Although I always have the next goal to meet for myself and my businesses, I still define meeting each of the smaller goals as a success worth celebrating.

One of the things that makes me feel most successful is hearing/seeing client feedback. Regardless of which company of mine that, I am working with, it is my ultimate goal to ensure each client/subscriber is 100% satisfied with everything from the services I am providing to the content on my blog and social media pages.
