Today we’d like to introduce you to Hope Gray.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Hope. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Growing up, I was away doing something creative then my sister started taking photography classes, and I was fascinated by the camera and how she captured different parts of the world. A few years went by, and I started serving on the photography team at my church with one of my sisters older DSLR cameras.
That’s when I fell in love with capturing people. That’s where I met my mentor, Eric Ewing. I wouldn’t be where I am today without his help and is belief in me. Serving at church taught me how to quickly be comfortable photographing different people, events, and shooting in extreme lighting.
After a few years, I began portrait and concert photography. Then I immersed myself shooing couples and then weddings. I have always loved photography but really found my passion in capturing couples and their unique selves.
Currently, I specialize in couple, wedding, portrait, and concert photography. My future goal is to primarily be elopement and couple photographer.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall it has been a pretty smooth ride. Of course, there are always little bumps along the way being an entrepreneur. I have been blessed with many mentors that are much further ahead in their career of photography that have helped me cultivate my gift.
Having a hard work ethic, I have been able to work, save money, and purchase good equipment at a fairly young age. Being personally motivated has helped me seek out new ideas and skills as well. So due to being around so many good photographers and my willingness and desire to learn it has been a smooth ride so far!

I am a wedding and portrait photographer. I specialize in modern and unique portraits and engagement sessions. I am always up for an adventure to a new location with a rad couple.
I am known for my sweet bubbly personality and for making my clients feel comfortable to tell their love story/personality in front of the camera with great angles and poses. I am proud of what I have accomplished at a young age.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
The first time that the church I was serving with posted one of the photos I took on their social media account. I felt like, “I made it!”
