Today we’d like to introduce you to Hunter Phillips.
Hunter, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been a REALTOR for 13 years. I started at the age of 19 during the housing collapse. After five years in real estate with very little success, I bought a camera and started learning photography. Maybe my pictures would get more listings? I managed to find a listing to photograph for my portfolio. The listing belonged to a colleague and someone whom I now consider a dear friend.
Whilst editing those pictures in the office, another agent saw my work and asked if I could shoot for him too. Between those two agents, referrals started rolling in and the “snowball effect” was in full swing. I went from trying to sell houses to marketing them for other agents. I went in a totally different direction than what I originally planned and because of that, I realized a true passion and drive. My mindset evolved. I couldn’t tell you how many times I felt like quitting. Somehow, I couldn’t bring myself to do so. I knew something was going to happen but, it certainly wasn’t what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised.
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t and I am thankful. This whole thing has been a journey. The struggles are very real but it’s the struggles along your journey that build you up to who you are today. The struggles have been worth it.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Kaizen Productions – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Kaizen Productions is an architectural and real estate photography company based out of North Texas. I am so proud of my company in the sense that it has been 100% organically grown by word of mouth. The best part has been the relationships built with others. We’ve helped each other build our businesses over the years. We’ve grown up together, professionally.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Pure Texas culture. Dislikes? The never-ending construction and traffic.
