Today we’d like to introduce you to Ilia Barreto.
Hi Ilia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I arrived from Puerto Rico with a dream of having my own business 8 years ago, I never thought that I would be able to establish it here in Texas. We started Avivafire Dance School in 2021 taking steps of faith after Covid-19. Thanks God we celebrate two years of having established ourselves in Watauga, Texas to teach children, youth, and adults. More than a dance academy we are a ministry that blesses and establishes the Kingdom of God through art and dance. We worship and express through dance. We are a non-profit school and we have been established with a purpose.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being non-profit we depend on help and people. But thank God we have seen support from God first and from parents and friends. It has been at God’s perfect time.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We offer dance classes, ballet, pre-ballet, contemporary dance, worship dance with instruments… We involve the spiritual area as well; we are an identity based on faith. We equip children, youth, and adults to express art to make known how wonderful it is to worship the Lord through the arts. We focus on the word of God and bring art and dance to churches and activities in our community.
What are your plans for the future?
The plan would be to continue offering classes and continue equipping children, youth, and adults. It is an excellent opportunity to add values to our childhood and focus them so that we can live a healthy world full of love.
