Today we’d like to introduce you to Ingrid Panameno.
Ingrid, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up in El Salvador exposed me to volunteer opportunities to assist children to succeed in school through tutoring and leadership programs. During this time, I discovered my passion for helping others, which led me to move out of the country to pursue my undergraduate education. I moved to Dallas six years ago and in this period of time, I graduated from a bachelors degree in Economics at UNT and received a full ride scholarship to study my Masters in Economic Development at the London School of Economics.
After concluding my graduate education in London, I moved back to Dallas, aiming to find new ways to help women in Dallas and El Salvador. My biggest dream is to create a non-profit to assist children and women in El Salvador, for which I looked for employment opportunities within the non-profit sector. I currently work as a Programs Coordinator for a charity measuring community impact of the programs and ensuring efficient distribution of resources to assist population in undeserved communities in the US.
During my free time, I seek to use my skills and motivation to empower women to follow their dreams. This is why I created my YouTube Channel “I PINK IT,” so I can use this platform to inspire change and motivate others to be the best version of themselves, through my passions of traveling and crafting. I created my Youtube channel six months ago, where I share stories to encourage women to travel, to explore their creativity, to choose happiness over anything else, and to seek for opportunities to follow their dreams.
In addition to this, I am very excited that in the next couple of months, me and my partner will be launching AlphaCrew Studio, an innovative service for the hair industry. This project will allow users to realistically try and see digital simulations of any hairstyles before they get them in real life. AlphaCrew Studio aims to improve the confidence of individuals by allowing them to decide which hairstyle or hair color best fits their facial features and personalities.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Despite my determination to pursue new goals, starting a YouTube Channel and being part of AlphaCrew Studio has not been a smooth road, but it has been an extremely rewarding experience.
When I posted my first YouTube video, I was nervous of what others would think of my accent and editing skills, since communications and graphic design are not the fields I studied. However, this motivated me to learn how to use a video editing and design software and to learn how to best modulate my voice to communicate better with an audience. In addition to this, there was one time were I felt discouraged to create content, because I was not getting the results I expected. However, during this time one person reached out to me to tell me how much my videos and posts were motivating her to pursue her dreams, so this is when I realized that I did not need to be seen by thousands of people, but rather individuals that would hear my message and feel influence for the better. Since then, I haven’t stopped creating content and I make sure I keep encouraging others on a daily basis.
With AlphaCrew Studio, it is still an ongoing process, as it has not launched yet. As new entrepreneurs, we all have expectations for our projects, but I understand that first you need to start small and wear different caps to succeed in your new business venture. However, fulfilling different roles can be overwhelming when you have limited time for all of your projects.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about I PINK IT and AlphaCrew Studio – what should we know?
I am an entrepreneur and influencer. Both of my projects are focused on empowering women in different areas. With I PINK IT, I am able to provide step by step videos to DIY anything from furniture to jewelry and to provide tips for women who want to explore the world, but are scared to embark on new adventures. In addition to always sharing videos and posts to encourage women to follow their dreams and pursuit of happiness.
While, with AlphaCrew Studio, I am able to encourage women to learn more about the hairstyles that fit their personalities and lifestyles better. By providing a realistic tool that shows users, digital simulations of any hairstyle they are intrigued to see in themselves, with the purpose of improving confidence, saving money, time and a bad hairstyle.
I am proud that both of these projects motivate women to pursue their dreams, as they can explore their creativity, find their best look, and feel encourage to explore the world.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe an essential quality is to know how to build and nurture relationships. By being part of a community, you have people believing in you, which encourages you to create a bigger impact and allows you to return the support when your community needs it the most. I believe you are the happiest when you help others to succeed and they are the happiest when they help you succeed.
