Irayana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I always knew growing up that I wanted to be an entrepreneur. As a sophomore at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, I was already hustling—selling lashes, blunt holders, and sunglasses in the hallways. While balancing school, I also did hair and worked a part-time job.
I graduated in 2021, unsure of my exact path. Caught between joining the military and pursuing cosmetology, I took a lash class in November 2021—and instantly fell in love with lashes. That was the moment Beautyxyanaa was born. I came up with the name and started building my brand.
In July 2022, I joined the U.S. Navy Reserves as a backup plan and to help pay for school. After completing basic training and A-school, I immediately enrolled in cosmetology school while still fulfilling my military duties and traveling. I also continued taking clients, determined to grow my business. By October 2023, I had completed the course, and in January 2024, I officially became a licensed cosmetologist.
Now, Beautyxyanaa is expanding. The next goal is to open salon suites, continue teaching lash trainings, and hire a team of talented lash techs. We’re also growing our product line and launching merch. While hair was my first love, I’m still finding my niche within the beauty industry. It can be overwhelming at times, but one thing is certain—lashes and lash training will always be a core part of Beautyxyanaa.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Embarking on the journey of establishing Beautyxyanaa LLC has presented both rewarding milestones and notable challenges. One significant hurdle has been securing adequate funding for business expansion. Initially, I relied heavily on personal income to finance growth, which posed limitations on scaling operations. Additionally, personal health challenges impacted business operations. In October 2024, I was hospitalized due to preeclampsia and remained under medical care until December 2024, coinciding with the peak season for beauty services. This unforeseen circumstance led to a temporary cessation of client appointments, resulting in financial setbacks and clients seeking services elsewhere.
Despite these obstacles, resilience and adaptability have been key in navigating the complexities of entrepreneurship within the beauty industry.

Over the next five years, I aim to expand Beautyxyanaa LLC through several strategic initiatives. First, I plan to establish a salon that offers a comprehensive range of beauty services, providing clients with personalized experiences. Recognizing the demand for convenience, I intend to introduce mobile beauty services to cater to clients seeking flexibility. Additionally, I aim to develop and market a proprietary lash product line, addressing diverse client needs and preferences. To share industry knowledge and support aspiring professionals, I plan to establish a lash training academy. Enhancing our digital presence is also a priority, with investments in an online platform to facilitate virtual consultations, e-commerce, and client engagement. Furthermore, collaborating with beauty influencers is part of my strategy to expand brand reach and credibility. These goals align with current industry trends, such as the integration of technology and the growing demand for personalized beauty experiences.
