Meet Irene Yuan of Motorsport Wishes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Irene Yuan.

Hi Irene, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am one of two co-founders along with Hubert Wong, we created Motorsport Wishes, Inc.- a Texas nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation about a year and a half ago. Our mission is to host motorsport-related events and activities to raise funds, to grant wishes to children with disabilities through motorsports-related experiences, and to provide scholarships to children and young adults who seek to pursue educational or career opportunities in motorsports. We were able to raise $50k in 2025 to put towards our programming.

At Motorsport Wishes, we offer unparalleled track experiences and back road tours that allow you to indulge your passion for cars while making a difference. Our events are designed to provide thrilling, unforgettable moments for car enthusiasts of all levels while building life long connections and friendships.. We host monthly track events where people can come out with their cars and we teach them how to drive on a race track. We also host charity laps in the afternoon where folks can ride shotgun for some thrilling laps around the track. We also have parade laps where people have the opportunity to drive their car on track behind a pace car at a moderate pace to get a feel for driving on the track. We also host back road drives on the weekend mornings where we map out fun curvy back roads to drive as a group and have lunch together. It is as much about building a community of car lovers as the activities of driving of our cars.

In February, we were able to take 3 families with kids with disabilities to Monster Jam. We also created sensory sensitive kits with noise cancelling headphones, a blanket, fidget toys, sunglasses so more kids with disabilities can enjoy more with their families. In March, we are taking 3 more families to the IndyCar Grand Prix Dallas. We’ll continue to bless kids with disabilities throughout the year with more motorsport events. Hopefully we will be able to work with some nearby school districts to bring programming to the schools or bring the kids to our events as well.

Our Scholarship Program Overview- The Motorsport Wishes Scholarship Program is designed to support youth and young adults who aspire to pursue educational or career paths related to motorsports. This includes, but is not limited to, studies in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, motorsports management, driving academies, or other related fields. We are also working with some of our sponsors for an apprenticeship program to go alongside the scholarship program for the recipients to gain first hand experience in Motorsports.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This is the first time we have started a non profit organization so there was a lot to learn. We have definitely grown faster than I have expected through our fundraising and our participants have been so generous and gracious so we can’t complain. We continue to seek sponsors and donors which is a long process as well as getting the word out about our events can also be challenging.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being genuine, humble and always learning
