Meet Jack Morehead of Farmers Market of Grapevine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Morehead

Hi Jack, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We have been in the produce business for four generations in Texas. Our father’s operated many farmers markets throughout Texas. My wife and I operated a store in The mid cities when Grapevine approached us asking if we could operate the outdoor market in 2010. We fell in love with Grapevine and it’s wonderful community. We opened the indoor market in 2014.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We are continuously grateful for the support of our community. From our first day setting up at the outdoor market, opening the indoor market, even through COVID. The Grapevine community has not only supported our business but our team members and even fed us! We worked hard during COVID so that we would be a safe place for people to shop in such an uncertain time.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a mom and pop style fresh market. We carry a large variety of produce including as much local and organic produce as available, local meats, dairy, cheeses, baked goods, breads, treats, etc. We also have many made in house items including salsa, guacamole, queso, hummus, ice cream, and more. Our market also includes delicious tamales from Grapevine tamale and salsa company including the famous Hatch Chile pork tamale.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
We are very lucky to have our style of business on Main Street in Grapevine – The Christmas capital of Texas – in the winter. We look forward to providing our customers with delicious hot chocolate, coffee, warm tamales, and sweet treats during the season.
