Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie Bly and Greg Kraynak.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Four years ago I (Greg Kraynak) relocated from Chicago with my wife Gina to Dallas to take on the position of CEO for Cellhire USA. Cellhire has been headquartered in Garland Texas since 2001. Our son Dan was living in Milwaukee WI, he was attending Marquette University and did not feel that his major suited him. He wanted a change of environment and to start a career. Dan and I decided to look into purchasing a franchise. We looked at many but settled on Chem-Dry due to the companies amazing reputation and structure. Dan moved to Texas with his girlfriend Victoria Giordano and the two working with my wife and I started the business. We knew very few people in Dallas and nothing about the carpet cleaning business but what we lacked in knowledge we made up for in teamwork and determination. It is a family affair. Jackie our Daughter and her boyfriend Mike Bly were married in Texas two years ago and moved to Texas from Illinois as well. While these two also work other full-time jobs, Jackie who is a teacher, spends the summer answering the Silver Spring Chem-Dry phone calls and Mike helps as a part time service technician and web developer. Chem- Dry’s brand promise is: Cleaner, Dryer Healthier and we stand behind this delivering our clients the state of the art processes for Carpet, Upholstery and Tile Cleaning.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It is tough starting a business from scratch in an area in which you do not have a strong base of family and friends to help spread the word about your business. As owners, we not only provide the service to the client but we need to handle everything from employee schedules to taxes and inventory. In the last three years, we have seen the business grow from word of mouth, marketing and repeat customers. we are proud that we have taken the business from nothing to having a company with excellent customer reviews and a great reputation for service.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The key success driver for our business is to track the number of repeat and referral clients. We review our orders at the end of the month and like to see the number of repeats growing. Obviously when we started the repeats were zero but three and a half years later repeats and referrals make up more than half of our business. Because a number of family members work in the business our approach to our customer is like that of a family. We have the privilege of being invited into our customers’ homes and we take this seriously. We respect the customers’ homes and take great care in providing a service that excesses our customers’ expectations so they will tell all of their friends about us.

- Our Basic Carpet Cleaning service is $60.00 per room but we discount to $40 per room for three rooms or more.
