Today we’d like to introduce you to Jae Carpenter and Lindsay Lancaster.
Jae and Lindsay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our friendship goes back 10+ years. As the years have passed, we’ve recognized in one another our love for having the most fun in all things. We are both serial list makers. We found a way to take a boring yellow post-it note (no offense post-it, we still love and use you) and make it life sized, full of color and fun to check off! Literally, on a joint family vacation, we were sitting there on the beach talking about what the rest of the summer would hold, making a list in the notes section of our phones. We decided why not make a poster sized list of the fun activities to look forward to, to check off as a family and to look back on all the fun memories made AND make it cute. To focus on and simplify our to-dos, to be purposeful with our time and to make all moments matter; BL2 was born! Our heart desires to sprinkle fun in our home and the lives of others around us!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With anything in life learning something new takes time. Overall, the biggest obstacle has been time management and setting ‘office hours,’ we love creating and it’s hard to turn it off, but we also want to love our families well.
Please tell us about your business.
We create personalized, poster-sized designs. Such as; holidays, birthdays, vacations, reading lists, parties, coloring sheets, family core values, scriptures, anything your heart desires. Our BL2 lists have made their way into homes, schools, classrooms, birthday parties, retirement parties, businesses, doctor’s offices, baby showers and have even gone on vacations. We are most proud of how the Lord has blessed the growth of BL2 and how our designs continue to grow and change.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans today are to continue to create and make our way into more family’s lives. A pipe dream is to open a BL2 storefront full of all of our favorite things. We desire to pass along the joy in creating something for someone else.
