Meet Jae Hunter of Bella Hair Boutique & Spa/Bella Sposa Bridal in Grapevine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jae Hunter.

Jae, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my career as a student at Aveda in their esthetician program, I volunteered for a myriad of fashion shows and began my career as a freelance makeup artist. Through that journey, I met many mentors one of whom was James Ryder. I was chosen to attend one of his boot camps in L.A. & from there I fell in love with editorial work. I began my publication journey and I had the privilege of being showcased in Surreal, wedding publications, international brand work, as well as working alongside Poolside Collection in L.A. & partaking in L.A. fashion week. Today I’m running my beauty studio servicing our local entrepreneurial women of the greater Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville area as well as local brides.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road. There’s always obstacles that come our way, this industry is saturated with equal talent, I truly believe that as an artist it’s our thirst for our passion that keeps us driven and makes us successful.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Bella Hair Boutique & Spa/Bella Sposa Bridal story. Tell us more about the business.
Our motto is that we love to make women feel beautiful in their natural state. I keep you looking like you while teaching you how to transform on your own. We are a one-stop shop for all things beauty. My studio services anything from color, cuts, facial treatments, waxing, lashes & brows. I’m extremely proud of the fact that this was once just a vision that came to fruition from dedication and hard earnest work. I didn’t have to take a loan or borrow from anyone, I started my brand & business on my own with my own invested capital and three years later I’m doing more than just breaking even. I think our customer service is what sets us apart. We can relate to the average local mom or working woman.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I feel the industry will definitely change in the next decade. Makeup artists and creatives alike have really changed social media and the way we look at beauty. I truly believe in the next decade the beauty industry is going to be one of the leading markets to invest in.
