Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamarcus Jackson.
Jamarcus, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started by having the thought of not working for anybody anymore. After graduating in 2009, I had to overcome a lot of obstacles. 2104, I picked up a pair of clippers and my life started changing slowly but surely.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t think anything in life goes smooth, definitely not mine. I struggled financially because of kids and lawyer fees. It was hard getting a job with my background so I had to take hard labor jobs with little pay. I took a leap of faith to leave the job to become my own boss and never looked back.
The Art of Barbering – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I cut hair Simple..!! Everybody wants Duck Sauce something I started saying because it says Duck and my nickname is “Mike Duck” so I started saying ducksauce. Clean cut without sharp Lines. Showroom ready When you leave my chair ..!!! I have a different style and conversation I teach positivity to my younger clients especially but I’m more than a barber I’m whomever you want in the time period of your cut.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is doing something you love and it doesn’t feel like work..! Changing somebody life to me is success when I give my service and you leave with a smile I have succeeded..!!
