Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Lopez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jamie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I originally moved to Dallas almost nine years ago. I’m originally from Waco, Tx born and raised. My mother is a retired Director for United Way and my father is a retired Gas commercial Supervisor class A driver. My parents instilled great values in me. The first being God always comes first and everything else will follow. Seeing how hard my parents worked, I wanted to find my passion. Having graduated from college in 2011, I became a Certified Medical Assistant. In 2011 as well, I married the love of my life and highschool sweetheart Ricky Lopez who graduated with a BA in Business Administration. I had compassion for helping others in the medical field, so my career started in Oncology, Radiology, Ortho and finished with Plastics in 2016.
As much as I loved nursing, I felt God had another plan and purpose for me. My husband and I always spoke about one day owning our own business. We just didn’t know exactly what we wanted to invest in or where to start. We had always talked about doing something with remodeling and helping homeowners achieve visions of what they really wanted to see their home’s look like. So, we started to do our research. My husband’s parents have owned a successful Granite business for over 30 years. And of course, that was our first resource. We really wanted to know what it took to become entrepreneurs, from there we literally crawled before we walked. In 2017, we officially opened First Choice Flooring and Renovations as a Flooring Retailer as well as installation and Remodels. We have always had so much support from family and friends. We are now preferred vendors for multiple Companies, Investors and Realtors all over the DFW area all the way to our home town of Waco.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been an easy road, but with the support of others and God on our side, we have made it. Some of our struggles was learning the different types of flooring that are manufactured and crafted. When customers think of flooring or remodeling, it’s a very broad subject. Flooring comes in different colors and variations of design and quality. Remodeling as well when a client comes to us with their visions sky’s the limit. So, we as a company have to know exactly how to approach each and every project big or small.
One main challenge with our customers was gaining their trust. we have run into many customers who have had bad experience with other contractors. I have learned to be more personal with my customers when it comes to their homes. Also, being sure to work with the right distributors for the best products and building relationships for our customers, to ensure they are getting the best products at great affordable pricing.

We have at First Choice Flooring and Renovations, do exactly what our company name is. We believe we should be your first choice in all of your Flooring and renovation needs.
We specialize in Flooring (Retail) as well as an Installation. Renovations, full kitchen and bathroom rebuilds. cabinets, countertops, and painting.
We here at First Choice pretty much do it all. We are well known for our customer service, craftsmanship, and affordable high-end products with affordable pricing.
We are most proud of how far we have come and how we have continued to stick to our core values honesty, integrity, creativity, and innovation.
What sets us apart from other companies is how we build a relationship we with our customers, realtors, investors, and distributors. Knowing that they can always count on us. We stand by what we say and do as a company. And will always go above and beyond for any of our customers.
