Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Singer.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I harnessed my luxury industry background and creative mindset to escalate my passion into a business. The modern vintage line of custom-made jewelry was born with these timeless pieces hand-selected from all over the world. No two pieces are the same, and every item tells a story with its contrast of an old find with a modern twist.
Like any true antique lover, my love for the hunt of finding the pieces by looking high and low during travels, searching for charms, pendants, medallions, coins, estate jewelry and more comes alive again with a new legacy to carry forward. My wanderlust is strong; I recently spent a summer at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. I was born and raised in Dallas and hold two business degrees from SMU as well as a Masters of Liberal Arts with a major in art history.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I find it not a struggle but a love to educate the customer about the amazing find and what they are about to purchase!
Please tell us about Crown Control.
I am owner and designer of Crown Control Jewelry, I’m known for thinking outside the box in just about everything I do. I’m so proud that so many people have found connections to Crown Control even if they have never thought of being interested in antiques. My company is set apart because it’s bespoke! No two pieces are the same and you truly get a unique piece. The stories are carried on in a modern way.
Crown Control originated from the initials CC, the letters of my parents’ first names, who serve as inspiration by their example of love and the importance of family. I also have been collecting crowns for years. Just like my jewelry, they represent heritage and history.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I am one of four girls and we are all a year apart. My favorite memories, whether at home or traveling, is being with my sisters and parents enjoying each other company. I have three built-in best friends!
