Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Johnson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I actually learned how to braid around the age of 6. So, I’ve always had a passion for doing hair, but I didn’t make it my full-time career up until about two years ago after I had my son. Having my son is what pushed me to take that leap of faith and follow my dreams. There is no looking back now and it’s truly been a blessing.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No smooth road here! There are some good days and some bad days. It’s not easy balancing my life, my business and motherhood. I sometimes allow my emotions to get the best of me, but then I realize how blessed I am. I am
raising a genius and doing what I love to do every day, and there is nothing else in this world that makes me happier. It’s a blessing and I am grateful!
JRenee Coiffures – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
JRenee Coiffures offers a variety of different services, specializing in braiding and hair extensions. In the beginning, I originally became very known for feed-in stitch braids. As I progressed, I then became known for sleek ponytails which is one of my absolute favorite styles to do!
As I look back on my journey of how I reached where I am now, I would have to say I’m most proud of my growth. Not just speaking skill-wise but as a professional and the way that I brand my business. What sets my business apart from others is the professionalism, cleanliness and positive energy. It is so important, despite how good you are, to keep customer service top priority in your business because that’s how you keep happy returning clients. That’s how you keep the five stars next to your name. That’s what I take pride in, what I always strive for.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career thus far has to be teaching my first class. I was so nervous in the beginning, my hands were literally shaking. So many thoughts were running through my mind but once I started teaching, seeing how focused and determined all my students were to master the technique, all my nerves went away. I shocked myself! I knew at that moment, that there was no limit to what I could do and that this is just the beginning.
