Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Payne.
Jasmine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I got my start in the beauty industry in 2006 in Flint, Michigan where I was born and raised. After graduating with my license in cosmetology, I fell in love with helping women and men feel confident about themselves. I then moved to Texas three years later and continued building my brand, Serenity Gold Beauty Spa, by applying lash extensions from my home. In 2016, I took on the task of obtaining my esthetician license and it has been the best decision I’ve made thus far. Now, I have a growing clientele and I am able to educate them about sugar hair removal and the importance of healthy skincare.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would say that true success doesn’t come without struggles along the way. When I began my journey, it was very expensive to invest in my dream while juggling all the other aspects of my life. I have managed working as a dental assistant, being a full-time mother of a toddler, and managing to balance my home life with my career as an esthetician. So needless to say, it hasn’t been “easy” pursuing my passion but it has surely been worth the experience.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Serenity Gold Beauty Spa – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Being the sole owner of a brand that services all skin types with multiple treatments, solutions, and body sugaring definitely set me apart from the outside competition. My most popular services are a “Sugar Brazillian” and a “Vagacial”, a service that allows women who suffer from hyperpigmentation and ingrowns to gain confidence in their body and beauty. In fact, sugaring started in the early 1900’s and it’s one of the most natural ways to remove hair while decreasing painful ingrowns. It makes me proud to know that I am helping women feel confident in their skin, whether they’re in swimwear, winter wear, or anywhere in between.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Before the year 2020 is over, my plan is to host at least one pamper party and start offering a yoni steam service. In the coming years, I look forward to educating other women and men about the special techniques used in sugar hair removal while continuing to perfect my craft and provide a “Serenity Gold” service to others.
