Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Ramsey.
Jason, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Our founder’s mother was suffering from cancer in the late 1980s. During that time she needed a wig, and he went with her one day to shop for one. He said there weren’t a lot of options.
The shops were small, they had limited inventory, and they were few and far between. It was then that he saw a real need for solutions in this area. That is where the idea was born. That experience led him to take an opportunity several years later to buy a wig shop that was going out of business in Omaha, NE. The business was essentially just wigs, in the beginning, then evolved to include extensions, and now has evolved even further to include non-surgical hair replacement.
Has it been a smooth road?
As with any business, there are always challenges. Finding the right employee is usually one of our consistent ones. What we do is very specific. It takes a lot of training, and we have to start with someone who is already a skilled stylist. Most of our customers experience some level of thinning hair and it can be very emotional. That means our customer service must be priority number one to make sure everyone leaves our location feeling better about themselves. I think any challenge that a business faces is also an opportunity to improve the business.

We are the industry leader in alternative hair products and care. We sell and service the finest wigs, hairpieces, and hair extensions on the market today. To my knowledge, we are the only alternative hair franchise concept in North America. We are known for our private fitting rooms, and one on one consultations. I’m most proud of our world-class customer service and attention to detail.
We recently just added CRLabs Trichology and Cesare Ragazzi CNC Hair Replacement to our menu of services. The ability to help someone have healthier hair and scalp, as well as possibly stop losing their hair though trichology is something that most of our competitors cannot do. The quality of CNC hair and style of application we receive from Cesare Ragazzi is also a huge differentiator that sets us apart from our competition. As a company, we try to stay ahead of the curve in regards to products and services in a rapidly changing industry.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas is a great city. We love the diversity and the people. We have so many stories of people helping others in this community. It’s not always like that in a large city but it is here. I think our location is in one of the most beautiful places in Texas. Really the only thing I don’t like about Dallas is the traffic, lol.
