Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaylin Gibson
Hi Jaylin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Jaylin Gibson, and I’m originally from Natchez, Mississippi. In 2021, I decided to take a leap of faith and relocate to Dallas, Texas. I’ve always had a passion for capturing life’s special moments because I believe we’re so blessed to experience them. Along with that, I’ve always loved celebrating and decorating, especially when it comes to bringing people together.
Back in college, I used to organize small, intimate gatherings like wine tastings and house parties. For me, creating those spaces where people could connect felt incredibly special. Eventually, I began doing intimate picnics and hotel decorations. However, as life went on, I stepped away from that passion for a while.
Even during that time, friends would still reach out and ask if I could help plan their birthdays, decorate events, or even organize a proposal! At first, I didn’t feel capable, and I let a lot of opportunities pass me by. But this year, I decided it was time to step back into what truly makes me happy.
It wouldn’t have been possible without the strength and encouragement of the people close to me who believed in my vision. Now, my business Champagne and Chandeliers focuses on small, intimate events, photo booths, party bus celebrations, and event decorations. I feel like all of these elements come together beautifully to help people celebrate life and capture the moments that matter most.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to building my business has been anything but easy. As a first-time entrepreneur, I’ve had to learn the ropes of running a business effectively—everything from budgeting and time management to networking and creating a strategy for growth. One of the toughest challenges has been managing my time. Balancing client needs, planning events, and handling day-to-day operations can feel overwhelming at times.
Another challenge has been connecting with the right people who can help me reach my goals. Building a network of supportive individuals, collaborators, and vendors is an ongoing process, and I’ve learned that relationships are key to success in this industry. It takes persistence, communication, and trust to create a strong foundation.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in event planning and event rentals, with a focus on creating unforgettable experiences. My business is most known for our photo booth and party bus services, which have become client favorites.
What I’m most proud of is the ability to take my clients’ needs and ideas and turn them into personalized, memorable moments. I believe what sets me apart from others is my attention to detail and my commitment to providing a service that I would want for myself. I don’t just aim to deliver an event; I want each client to feel special, valued, and elevated throughout the entire experience.
One of the things that makes my business unique is our customization options. For the photo booth, we specialize in brand activation—clients can have the booth wrapped with their logo or branding, and we offer custom printouts, tap-to-start screens, and templates. It’s perfect for businesses looking to create an engaging and professional presence at events.
With the party bus, we go beyond the ordinary by offering customized touches like champagne bottles, balloons, pillows, and snacks tailored to the event theme or client preferences. These personal touches elevate the experience and ensure that every detail feels intentional and meaningful.
Unlike companies that simply drop off equipment, my goal is to create an elevated, full-service experience where clients feel cared for and celebrated. It’s not just about the service—it’s about making people feel special and creating moments they’ll never forget.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Although my company wasn’t established during the height of COVID-19, the lessons from that time have still influenced how I approach my business today. One of the most significant takeaways is the importance of adaptability. The pandemic showed how quickly circumstances can change and how essential it is to have a flexible mindset when running a business.
I’ve learned to focus on creating services that are not only customizable but also versatile enough to meet clients’ needs in a variety of situations. For example, incorporating features like brand activations for the photo booth and offering personalized options for the party bus ensures that my business can serve both intimate gatherings and larger events seamlessly.
Another important lesson is the value of connection. COVID-19 emphasized how much people crave meaningful interactions, especially after being apart for so long. This has inspired me to put extra thought into making every event feel special, whether it’s through personal touches or by helping clients celebrate milestones in ways that feel safe, unique, and memorable.
Lastly, I’ve realized the importance of planning for the unexpected. Building a strong network, maintaining open communication with clients, and keeping an eye on trends in the industry are all strategies I’ve embraced to ensure my business can weather challenges and continue to grow, no matter what comes my way.
