Jeff, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Dallas, TX from Lakeland, FL about 3 and a half years ago. After the move, I got a job working in commercial aviation insurance. I wrote insurance policies for a few companies who started working with drones and my interest was immediately sparked. I started to realize how much impact drone technology could have on a variety of different industries. After researching the idea in depth, I decided it was time to take a chance and Tarillo Vue was born in 2015.
I originally started out with the idea to connect companies in need of aerial photography and videography services with quality and legal operators in the area.
After coordinating a few projects, we realized we could provide a more consistent, higher quality product by doing the work in house. We now utilize UAV’s (drones), planes and helicopters to provide both creative and inspection aerial photo and video work for a variety of different industries throughout Texas.
Has it been a smooth road?
Drones present evolutionary change to many industries. Because of this, our business plan started out with a lot of ideas and speculations rather than cold hard facts and numbers. A lot of what we have done so far has been trial and error.
Determining which of our ideas actually provided the most value to companies that would be willing to pay for that service. Because of this, we have swung and missed on a lot of those ideas and industries.
Even though a lot of our ideas didn’t end up working out, a few did. The companies we now have the privilege to work with on a regular basis find value in what we provide them. Not only have we found what works for our clients, we identified what works well for us, and we love what we do!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Being in Dallas is very different from Florida. I have a love hate for how rapidly the metroplex is growing. As a young adult, I enjoy the opportunity to meet new people everywhere I go, many of them being in the same stage of life from all over the country.
A lot of the folks I meet move here for work as it is a great place for your professionals to get their feet planted in the career world. I love the Park Cities Presbyterian Church where my wife and I attend and how we serve the communities around us. Dallas is also a great flying hub to be able to fly anywhere in the country for a reasonable price.
On that same token, being in Dallas does not provide exactly a lot to do outside of shopping or going out to eat. I do miss having easy access to the ocean. While Dallas has a lot going for itself, the fast paced and crowded environment can be stressful at times.
