Meet Jeff Jones of Westside of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Jones.

Hi Jeff, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Right out of college, I worked as a landman and spent much of my time traveling during the week for work—staying in hotels, making decent money, and getting the chance to see small towns across West Texas and Eastern Ohio that I likely never would have experienced otherwise.

Eventually, I reached a point where I was ready to stop traveling and focus on starting a family. Around that same time, someone approached my oldest brother about purchasing his sign company. He initially declined, but when the opportunity was presented again—this time suggesting that all three brothers buy the company together—it sparked something.

My two older brothers and I discussed the opportunity extensively through many phone calls, digging into the details and the numbers. Everything made sense, and my oldest brother and I felt ready for a new chapter. From there, the rest is history.

Today, my middle brother, Alan, and I are actively involved in the business. About three years ago, we bought out our oldest brother, Matt. The sign business has been a true blessing for all three brothers and our families, and we’re incredibly grateful for our customers and the employees who make what we do possible.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say the biggest challenge has been keeping up with technology and scaling appropriately as the company has continued to grow. Early on, one of our biggest struggles was simply learning the sign industry itself. We purchased the company based on the numbers and had little to no experience with printing or running a business.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are considered a large-format printing company that specializes in commercial and residential signage. We also produce a wide range of banners, campaign materials such as coroplast signs, and event signage. Essentially, we handle most types of non-lit printing.

While that doesn’t mean we won’t venture into illuminated signage in the future, our primary focus at this time is sign printing.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Fort Worth and everything about it—the people, the food, the many opportunities for growth, and the variety of communities. It may sound cliché, but it truly has a big-city feel with a small-town atmosphere. Fort Worth is also a passionate sports town that proudly supports the Horned Frogs, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, and Dallas Mavericks.

Honestly, the only thing I can say negatively about Fort Worth is the traffic, which has gotten a bit busier as more people continue to move to this great city.
