Meet Jeff Rackley of Tint World in The Colony

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Rackley.

Jeff, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After 30 years in manufacturing, mostly as a plant manager/director of operations, I wanted to have my own business — I’d already spent a lot of time running other people’s businesses. Having always been a “car guy” who loves working on, modifying and driving cars, it had to be a car-related business. Also, I wanted to do something fun, where the customers look forward to and enjoy the results of our services. I didn’t want to just have a brake or transmission shop. Tint World appealed to me because we do a wide variety of cool automotive upgrades.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business is always tough. Even with a solid background in business and management, you still have to learn the market, develop a great reputation with customers and build the business. Three years later, we’re in a great spot. We serve an area where lots of people want to enhance and protect their automotive investment. Just like for us, their cars and trucks are their babies!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Tint World – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I got my wish. Our shop in The Colony really is a fun place to visit, and there’s usually something really cool in one of the bays. You’ll see all sorts of vehicles — from a solid, long-running Honda Civic to a new Tesla or Supra, to the flashiest Lambo or Rolls — you name it, we’ve done upgrades on them all.

We offer a huge variety of premium services for your vehicle, starting with a range of automotive tints and UV films for heat rejection and skin/interior protection. We’re also well-known for our high-quality paint protection film installations, which shields paint from rock chips, and nano ceramic coatings that keep your car shiny and clean.

And our team excels at 12-volt automotive accessory upgrades, from adding a simple radio all the way to full bass/sub/amp packages. We also sell and install premium-branded back-up cameras, radar detectors, in-vehicle entertainment systems, alarms and remote starts. And then there’s the eye candy: wheels and tires, full color-change vinyl wraps, stripes and graphics. We have lots of ways to make your car look, sound and feel fantastic.

All of us at Tint World in The Colony enjoy the car and truck culture here in Dallas. It’s a great town for car shows. And I’m a driving instructor at a few of the tracks around DFW, so if you’re a racing nut, you’ve got to come by with your Lotus, your Miata, your GT3 or whatever you’ve got. We really love to talk cars.

Who does inspire you in your life?
My grandfather bought a brand new 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 when I was around eight or nine. I loved riding in it with him, then getting to drive it. Over the years, we worked on it together and eventually he passed the Cruiser down to me. He taught me how to appreciate vehicles on a very elemental level. That truck is still one of my all-time favorites.
