Meet Jennifer Freeman of The Lewisville Arts Conservatory

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Freeman.

Jennifer, before we jump into specific questions about your music, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The Lewisville Arts Conservatory opened its’ doors in August of 2017. We started with private lessons in piano and voice and musical theater classes. We started that semester with 65 students. Since that time, we have expanded our programs and currently have over 300 students. We now offer private lessons in piano, guitar, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, flute, musical theater voice, and contemporary voice. We also offer classes in musical theater, art, toddler music, little mozarts and mommy and me. We have seen the most growth in our musical theater program. We offer five performance classes with each class divided by age. Each semester each performance class puts on a full scale musical with costumes, sets, and props. We also offer training classes for our musical theater students that include voice, dance and acting. Last summer we started our center stage Summer Musical Theater Intensive Camp. We had 120 students who performed the musical “Wizard of Oz” and put this mammoth musical together in just one week. We are a ministry of First Baptist Church of Lewisville. Our students come from multiple schools and surrounding areas. Our mission is to teach through the love of Jesus and to provide our students a safe place where they can skillfully develop and grow their talents.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I believe struggles come with the inception of any program. The biggest struggle has been the fast growth and the hiring of skilled instructors to meet the needs of our students. Our goal is to hire instructors that have experience in teaching a wide age range of students and that are educated in their particular field. We take hiring new instructors with great eternal weight. God has been so good to provide just the right people to fill the needs we have, and we know He will continue to do this as we trust Him.
