Meet Jennifer Hernandez of Eats by Jenn.her

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hernandez.

Jennifer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up in a Mexican household meant a lot of red meat & tortillas for most of our meals followed by pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread) and a cup of coffee after dinner. As delicious as this was, I often times felt sluggish afterward which inspired me to venture out of our comfort foods to create dishes that were both delicious & wholesome.

Throughout this process I became in love with the colors, flavors, and presentation. I learned that this was my preferred art method, one in which I could pour my culture & heart into, and so I did. I began documenting my food on social media to show the world what I could create, the response was incredible. My business followed a short time after & has been growing ever since!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being First Gen. (in the business world) has been my biggest challenge thus far. It was/is a struggle trying to figure out how to properly run such a unique business all on my own. As difficult as it may be, I also consider it to be a strength because I’ve learned so much throughout this journey and the progress continues to motivate me to be better than I was yesterday.

Eats by Jenn.her – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Eats by Jenn.her began less than a year ago & started primarily as a meal prepping business but is currently transitioning to be that & much more. At eats by jenn.her we share the love for food with our clients as a culinary EXPERIENCE of unique dishes abundant with flavor. Beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to share my craft throughout different areas of the food industry which include: catering, private dining events, meal prepping, vendor markets & so on!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The immense love I receive from my clients continues to be the most humbling & rewarding part about my business. The constant excitement & satisfaction they share with me about their experiences is the cherry on top of everything I do. They encourage me to push culinary boundaries and be the creative that I am today. Through their support I have found a passion & for that I am forever grateful.
