Meet Jennifer Holloman of Mouthful in Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Holloman.

Jennifer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a child, I’ve always wanted to be in entertainment. It’s what I thought about daily. I didn’t care if it was singing, acting, interviewing, etc. I remember being around four or five and having a red and white cassette tape player with a microphone attached singing Whitney Houston’s “I’m your baby tonight” with a crowd in front of me. Of course, life happened and my dreams were put to the side. Fast forward to 2017, I met back up with a classmate for motivation and I haven’t stopped. I’m very proud of what I’ve accomplished in the last year and there is no stopping me now. I’m a host of a talk show, and I couldn’t be more proud of my damn self.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Never a smooth ride when accomplishing major things. In the question before I mentioned life happened. I let everything but the right things get in my way. I met people who didn’t care about my goals or future, as well as people who were here for a lifetime who wanted me to do the norm and live a non-prosperous life (work, and collect a check when it was time to retire). That’s never been me and never will be. Although I am working a regular 9 to 5 now, the real deal is being manifested at my job and outside of it. Oh, let’s not forget the kiddos lol!! I have two babies who are my world, but baby they can take me there!!!! The reason this project and talk show is so important to me is I am able to bring my children to work if need be. It’s never a problem and my producer makes that clear.

Please tell us about your work.
Our television show Mouthful is like no other. When I auditioned, I didn’t know what to expect. It has been a great ride and experience. I and my three other cohosts are discussing everyday situations from Love and Relationships to Racism, and believe me we get down to it! All I’ve ever been known for was being a clown. I always could make people laugh. I have this hidden singing talent as well that people don’t know about. Follow our IG Mouthful_tv and you’ll catch a snippet. I’ve sung with a local artist by the name of Star. (Star Music) who’s very dope and consistent in his work. I randomly met him on Facebook and the next day was singing with him at one of his shows. I’m most proud of Mouthful because the producer is someone I grew up with and to see her put something this dope together was liberating for me. (Shout out to Miraca!) This show will be one of the greats. I can feel it in my spirit. I haven’t seen a show like ours on tv or maybe I don’t watch it enough, so stay tuned.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Life is a journey, there’s nothing I’d do differently. I’m so damn far from where I want to be, but I know my ending’s going to be so spectacular all the bs I’m going through now will be worth it.
