Meet Jeremy Gandy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Gandy.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jeremy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started scratching first (tattooing out of my house). After three years of only getting to do my passion on nights and weekends, I decided to pursue an apprenticeship with BillyJack Gunter at Artistic Encounter.

I served ten years at AE where I unlearned a lot of bad habits but also learned how to become a Tattoo Artist. The environment there is unlike any other place I’ve ever been too. BillyJack creates a culture and a vibe that makes everyone there work together and really act as a family. I am now at a private studio and doing what I love most. Big projects, Blackwork, Sacred Geometry, and a little Black n Grey Realism.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a long and hard road, but nothing that’s easy is worth it. You have to overcome obstacles to be the person you want to become. I always tell myself that diamonds are made under pressure! Apprenticeships are very hard and more like a boot camp. But the process really weeds out the people who want it from the ones who think “it’s a cool job”.

Please tell us more about your work. What should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m currently at Black Rabbit Society. We are an appointment-only shop which means there is no walk-in traffic. Every artist here specializes in their own skill and is pretty booked out with clientele. I am most know for Sacred Geometry and Pointillism. I am also building my clientele for cosmetic tattooing called Scalp Micro Pigmentation, in which I replicate each hair follicle to create the illusion of hair. The final product is amazing and I’m still in awe seeing the results (even tho I produced them, lol). It’s all about helping transform people’s lives.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is having goals and attaining them. Crushing them. Not everyone who’s successful is wealthy and not everyone who’s wealthy is successful. You have to fail many times to become successful.
