Meet Jeremy Keeton of Adrenaline Dance Convention and Revive Dance Convention

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Keeton.

Jeremy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began dancing later than most people at the age of 11. I immediately fell in love with dance, and it quickly consumed my life. At the age of 18, I found myself performing and teaching a lot, and really developed a passion for the creative side. Witnessing how positive teaching can be in, not only in helping people become stronger in their dance abilities, but in becoming a counselor, a second parent, and just witnessing them become stronger individuals.

I was fortunate enough to teach around the country with one of the most prestigious dance events at the time. What I was doing really resonated with me and was very fulfilling and never felt like work. I ended up approaching the company I was working for about starting a convention portion of their event. After three years of trying to convince them of the importance of the addition, in 2002, I decided to leave and start my own convention.

We are now going on our 16th season and just started Revive Dance convention which is currently in its second season. Combined we do over 40 cities a year and travel around the country to inspire and educate and have a fun-filled weekend.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to get to where we are now has not always been smooth. It was a lot of grinding to build the name, the reputation and, to maintain our standards and our employees. When we started we had a total of 8 people doing all of the necessary jobs, leading to now, we have over 50 people currently employed between both companies.

The process has been anything but easy, with normal growing pains, times of not knowing if we were going to make rent and payroll the next month. Through building the brand we were fortunate enough to withstand during the recession, and actually had quite a bit of growth, during that time, but really boomed starting in 2012 and have continued growing since then.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Adrenaline Dance Convention and Revive Dance Convention – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a national touring dance convention an competition. Our main focus is the convention portion of our events. Where we bring in top educators to teach dancers around the country. Our faculty includes those who have been on national tours with Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, on So You Think You Can Dance, and Dancing With The Stars, to name a few.

Our events also have competition, where dancers can perform and get professional feedback on the routines that are presented.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We just had a big change with the addition of our sister company Revive Dance Convention, which is going into its 2nd year. Our priority is to build Revive’s reputation to that of Adrenaline. Once we get there, we will look at how and what we can expand upon moving forward.
