Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When COVID-19 hit, I knew that I needed to come up with ways to try and stay as healthy as possible and that this was the perfect time to start really focusing on my health. I realized that there would be no vaccine or cure for a while and that medicine alone would not be the answer. At first, I thought about making immunity shots packed with ginger and lemon and that is what initially prompted me to purchase my first juicer and play around with recipes. I ended up really enjoying juicing and had such a fun time with my new hobby that I continued to take it a step further each day. I really wanted to start spreading awareness about what juicing was and all of the amazing health benefits of it. I personally have been trying to focus more on my health and living an overall healthier lifestyle as well as promoting the importance of full-body health, whether that consists of working out, eating healthier, meditating, or simply focusing on being the best version of you. It has all tied in hand in hand and is what prompted me to start my journey in this business.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Surprisingly it has been a very smooth road. I think mainly because I have truly enjoyed the journey and it has really become my passion. I am very deep into my faith and I strongly believe in discernment and that when God has something for you, he will make that very apparent! I will say that as the business has grown, there are more struggles to come, which are expected when growth happens. I have learned to embrace challenges that have come my way and look at any failure as a learning opportunity to only get better at my craft.
Glo Juice Bar – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Glo Juice Bar specializes in fresh juice made from all-natural fruits and vegetables. Our slogan is real, natural, and fresh because it is simply what Glo Juice Bar believes in. Our vision is to promote healthy living and to get people to understand that being healthy doesn’t have to be hard. Living a healthy lifestyle is really about having a vision, goals, and disciple and this has been something that I have been very passionate about in my personal life as well. My goal is to let others know about all of the options that are out there when it comes to wanting to live a better life.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment in my career so far is that I have been bold enough to take a leap of faith and create a business while being a single parent, working a full-time job, as well as being in graduate school. There have been many times when I could have used one of those excuses to limit myself or not go for it; however, I decided that I wouldn’t ever give up nor allow anyone’s opinions to cloud my ideas or dreams. I am proud to know that I have been a motivation to so many other young women who may or may not be in similar situations that I am in and that at some point, I have given someone else the courage to take a leap of faith for their goals as well.
