Meet Jessica S. Irvin in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I received my B.S. in Mass Communications from Texas Wesleyan University in December of 2015. While in school I saw myself going into public relations and planned on working for a non-profit organization. Towards the end of my time in school, I realized that I could make a career out of my love for social media, photography, and content creation.

Less than a week after graduating I started working for an agency in Fort Worth where was able to expand my knowledge and experience in digital marketing. During my 2 years at that job, I spent all of my evenings working on my personal brand, squeezed as many photoshoots into each weekend as possible, and networked with as many likeminded creatives as possible (both online and offline).

In February 2018, I started working part time with MELT Ice Creams doing all things marketing and have been able to dedicate the rest of my time towards building my own business. I also recently rebranded and launched a new website, which has been an exciting step in the right direction for me!

Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t think ANY of us have had a smooth journey! While I’m extremely blessed in so many ways, the road has been everything but smooth.

I think most creatives struggle at one time or another to find exactly what their niche is and what sets them apart from competition. While I think we will always be evolving (which is a good thing), I am more happy and confident than I’ve ever been about who I am and what my brand represents.

I think everyone else also struggles with the balance of having a side hustle and the perseverance it takes.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jessica S. Irvin story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a cheerful creative freelancer based in Fort Worth, Texas! My brand started with a very vibrant Instagram account and I was encouraged very early on by how many people were impacted by my positive and uplifting content. This foundation of positivity, vibrant colors, and community has made my business the joyful brand it is today.

My services include…

Photography:
I specialize in branding and blogger photography to create images that are vibrant, fresh, and bound to help any creative stand out from the crowd.

Social Strategy:
People asking for some type of social help is a weekly (sometimes daily) occurrence. While I’m always happy to give a helpful tip here or there, I’m also here for more in depth social strategy advice. I assist with things as simple as helping writing Instagram bios to full blown social marketing plans.

Coaching:
One of my biggest passions is helping young women achieve their dreams, whether it’s helping them find their first internship or helping them launch their career. I’ve always loved mentorship and watching people grow and thrive. As a student I never really had someone that was a few years ahead of me in their career to learn from, so I try to be that person to people younger than me.

Brand Relationships:
From sponsored posts to brainstorming ways to make a launch event a memorable one, it’s always a joy to work alongside brands. I can create an experience in my own personal style that resonates with a brand’s audience and helps grow their exposure and following.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
While niche marketing is an already huge in the industry, I believe that it is only going to continue growing. For a time I think that all of us have tried to please everyone and have been concerned about getting as many likes/followers as possible. Both brands and influencers are starting to see that the quality and engagement of audiences is so much more valuable than a huge following. While authenticity is a big buzz word now, it truly is important. The internet is a big place and I think that everyone should be true to who they are and what they are passionate about.
