Today we’d like to introduce you to Jo Nelson.
Joseph Nelson, leader, entrepreneur and symbol of change. Under the alias of JO24, his mission is to bring street conscious music to the masses. Jo, a native of Dallas, Texas by way of Glenn Heights, currently lives with his partner, children and dogs. Jo wears many hats from business owner to motivational life coach. Growing up Jo was known most for his lyrical skill and loveable character. As a young child, Jo’s charisma landed him a few children’s roles on television and print. Before Jo graduated high school, he had not only organized several talent shows but also performed in them under the School Business Professionals mentorship program. It was no surprise that his gained experience working both behind the scenes and on stage. would lead him into the entertainment industry as a music artist, curator and record label owner. His favorite pastime would be spending time with his loved ones and curating memorable events. Simple things in life are what matter the most, “Carpe Diem” is his motto.

The music industry and fast lifestyle turned into an unfortunate series of situations leading up to Jo’s incarceration, where he had time to focus on his next move in life. Upon Jo’s release in 2009, he made his first move in a positive direction. Jo enrolled in a technical school to become an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician and decided to go into business with his retiring father Joseph Nelson Sr. Prior to graduating his program, his father was shockingly murdered. These tragic events sparked a new outlook on life for Jo and left him once again contemplating his true place in the world.
Once justice was granted to Jo and his family for the murder of his father, Jo was ready to move on with life. This period of trials and tribulations fueled Jo’s return to creating music. On a positive upward spiral Jo reunite with a childhood friend who later would become his wife and business partner. In honor of his father, Jo vowed to devote his life to the purpose and being of positive service to others.
To take his journey further Jo co-founded an enterprise of businesses to include entertainment platform Konscious Konnect. In his downtime Jo donates himself to his charity, Free The Streets Non-Profit Organization, with a focus on social service and community change.

Jo is a firm believer in leading by example. He trusts in mentorship and is an example of its powerful impact. For the past ten years, he and his partner have facilitated opportunities centered around art culture and positive social change. When he is not creating donating his time to charity, Jo trains and teaches Praying Mantis Kung Fu.
Jo takes pride in continuing his family’s legacy with honor. As a symbol of change, Joseph is trailblazing the way for many who come after and look up to him as a role model. JO24 The Warrior, King, Priest all in one.

Dallas is really growing especially in the entertainment realm. The city has always been an artist hub and breeding ground for superstar entertainers. The best advice is to get out there and network. Create great music while making a positive impact on the community. Do good business! A wise man by the name of Rickie Clark once said: “keep good records”. Develop genuine relationships, build a great support team you can enjoy the ride with.
The goal of Konscious Konnect and the enterprise as a whole is to create a movement that will grow a culture that is sustainable for generations to come.
