Joann, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up, I’ve always been into the beauty industry. I’ve always wanted to help other women feel confident and beautiful. I’ve done hair, makeup, photography, lashes and brows. But my main concept was to empower women. To especially uplift those who have struggled with their self-esteem. I wanted to create a movement within the beauty industry and that beauty is not only on the outside but it should reflect what you have within as well. I’ve invested so much in my business by working in Human Resources and becoming certified after taking so many training classes. I’m on social media all day learning new ways to improve my business in all aspects such as quality supplies and professional appearance. With 10+ years of experience in Customer Service and working with women closely, to know that I’ve helped build confidence in a woman to be beautiful inside and out is the best reward possible.
Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road. I’ve always been told to go into beauty but I’ve always been scared. I’ve always had the drive to start different businesses but the one industry that always brought me back was beauty. Coming from a traditional Filipino family, they’ve always expected me go into the medical field but science and math was never my thing! I ended up getting a degree in business administration and then eventually ending up in Human Resources. I originally am from California and it was a huge step moving to Dallas all on my own without knowing anyone other than my bestfriend who came too. Ever since I gave birth to my daughter in 2016 and then losing her the same day, I just wanted a fresh new start. Moving to Dallas has been the best decision I’ve made and I’ve grown so much the last two years I’ve been here. I knew that starting a business with small clientele would be difficult but I’ve worked hard on marketing and professionalism that with word of mouth, my work spread like wildfire and now my nights and weekends are dedicated to my business! It’s such a blessing.

Bellissima Lash & Brow is a business in the beauty industry where I specialize in lash extensions and brow shaping and microblading. As a company, what I’m most proud of is my investment in quality supplies and professional appearance. I’ve invested so much to assure that our appearance is prestigious as the work we do. What sets us apart from others are the different packages we offer along with lash extensions and microblading. We include facials and teeth whitening along with getting your lashes done. And, of course, the professionalism and care we have for each of our clients. The smiles and joy we get from them after receiving our services is the absolute best.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely! Dallas is an amazing city filled with millennials and entrepreneurs. There are a lot of business opportunities here. As of right now, Dallas one of the fastest-growing cities. I believe the beauty industry will always be in demand. We have both nightlife and then corporate America so many will always want their lashes and brows done. Appearance is everything! The lashes I especially like to do are everyday naturals. The kind you can use for both work and nightlife.
