Today we’d like to introduce you to John Dailey.
John, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been writing and recording original music since I got my first 4-track back in Middle School and fell in love with the creative process from start to finish. The Wolf Gala is the umbrella for all of my different creative outlets and includes a rotating cast of artists to produce different projects involving music, art, and film. The different influences create a kaleidoscope effect coming threw the finished lens and continually push to create new and exciting content for us. Check out Aunt Baby and We Leave at Midnight on all streaming platforms and social media to get an idea.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Turbulence can be dictated by expectations, I suppose. So although it’s been creatively fruitful, it’s not financially sustainable as a career. Does that make it purer or an utter failure?
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
We make music that draws from the past without ignoring the current. A bit of this and a tad of that. Incorporating vocal harmonies and melodies that’ll make you nostalgic for the past but unafraid of bringing in more modern influences. We make DIY art from the ground up, every step of the way.
What were you like growing up?
Anxious, eccentric, creative and curious.
