Meet John Legg of Boudoir Leggett

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Legg.

John, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Boudoir Photography came into my life while serving in the U.S. Army overseas in Germany. My unit was an Active Deployable unit, which meant that when we were not deployed in direct actions with Iraq or Afghanistan, our unit was slotted for several training exercises to prepare for the next full range deployment. This left several spouses simply wanting to connect with their loved one sensually. Being in a relationship, I understood the pressures our loved ones were under, and that something as simple as an escape was necessary. My first Client approached me in the summer of 2006, wishing to pursue Boudoir knowing I had experience in photography. We spent the time during that shoot laughing and joking with each other while capturing the most amazing photos possible with a 14-megapixel camera and natural light. Allowing our imaginations to set the scene, the first Sass (Sexy and Simply Sensual) Package was Born. Needless to say, their partners were quite surprised to receive such a unique care package. Motivation that drove them to come home safe. Before we had realized, one client turned into four and four turned into several. From the time “Boudoir Leggett” was first whispered, it grew into a trustworthy name that could be counted on to be discreet and professional. However, we immediately identified a need once we arrived in the DFW Metroplex. In today’s ever-changing world, time is the resource none of us are capable of expanding. The studio needed to evolve for the Client allowing a more personal approach that catered to the time and needs of the individual, not the business. Boudoir Leggett is the first Fully Mobile and Professional Boudoir Photography Agency in the DFW Metropolis. Our team is the only one that fully caters to the Client. We come to you, explore your options with a personally assigned liaison, shop with you to expand your wardrobe, scout and reserve the most luxurious and real locations in the Metropolis, and fully cater to your choice for hair and makeup by providing menu options from our Licensed Cosmetologists. Let’s not forget, Boudoir Leggett includes all of your pictures in the cost of your package plan. This means there are no additional hidden costs for the purchase of photos or post shoot touch-ups. You get them all.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was an incredibly smooth however unexpected road in the beginning. As stated before, I never imagined Boudoir Photography would have grown to be so discretely popular. One of the largest challenges we’ve faced during this venture was having to leave the reputation and clientele overseas in Germany to establish Boudoir Leggett all over again in the DFW Metroplex. We try to not openly advertise as we view our clients as valued private clients who pursue a discrete and personal experience which leave them with a stunning keepsake that will accent their beauty and power for generations to come, from the benefit of our agency being the best well-kept secret amongst our clients. So, establishing ourselves as a premiere opportunity for potential clients has been a challenge. We remain hopeful and confident that our venture will build amazing relationships and report with future clients.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We specialize in Non-Nude Boudoir Photography and hold discretion as our highest value to the Client. Class and elegance highlights the tasteful expression of sensuality women have in the most powerful art form, photography. Boudoir Leggett is best known for its flexibility for the clients benefit, not the company. We work one on one with our clients to ensure they have the best possible experience from the moment they contact us to the time their account is closed with our agency. We are the only Boudoir Photography company in the DFW area that provides a Client Liaison for the Client from start to finish. This individual can meet with the client at a location they wish and at a time that benefits the client, instead of having to travel to a studio and slot the time out of their busy schedule. Our Client Liaison will also take the client shopping for their photo shoot. This assists the client from finding premier lingerie shops to secondary opinions on fit, styles and comfort. The clients aren’t limited to a studios inventory of lingerie. Something that has never settle well on our clients’ stomachs was the concern over whether the studios had properly washed and sterilized the materials they would have to wear during their photo shoot. With Boudoir Leggett, the items are purchased new by the client and retained by the client as their personal possessions. Because we are an agency and not a studio, all of our locations are real, discrete, and sensual locations that actually exist right here in our own world. They are not pre-established sets that were dreamed up from someone’s imagination. The client can re-visit these locations later at any time they wish at their own discretion.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a very active child. From playing soccer to baseball, my parents always did what was necessary to ensure I enjoyed sports. However, by the time I had reached 15, my grandmother fell ill from Diabetes. In order to assist her, my parents agreed that I could move in with her and attend school in the town she lived. This also gave me the opportunity to earn my driver’s license early. I owed a lot of my development as a young adult to my grandmother during those times. By the time I had reached 17, my parents had divorced. Graduating from school early, I attended a local community college so that I could continue my education in Criminal Justice while taking care of my grandmother. It was always an interest of mine to serve our local citizens through law enforcement to protect and serve the community. However, all of this changed when 9/11 struck the heart of everyone in our nation. As thousands of others had lined up to enlist, I did as well with the United States Army as an Infantryman. I wanted to be on the front lines and deliver harm to those who had given so much to ours. I remember standing at attention in front of the drill instructors at Ft. Benning when they asked us why we joined, watching several break into tears as they discussed the loved ones they had lost during the attacks on the world trade centers and pentagon. It was our duty as an American people to come together as one and see a mission accomplished. It was during my first tour in Iraq in 2004 that I had fallen in love with photography. Capturing the essence of a 3rd world country in the dust and grit of the sand storms and dirty streets and villages. It was enough for my 20-year-old eyes to open to a much larger world and appreciate the small things in life we took advantage of as American Citizens.
