Today we’d like to introduce you to John Ward.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Music is a beautiful thing. It’s been breathed into me since I was a kid, and I’ve been breathing it out ever since.
I started stumbling around the piano at the age of four, and my cousin would show me small chords and easy to play notes. I grew into a “guitar player,” then an “electric” guitar player, and finally, as everybody struggles with, I finally gave myself a chance to see if I could sing, and I haven’t looked back since.
It’s been a hard journey; for nothing good ever comes free, but the sacrifice for freedom of life is always worth it, and the passion for a chance at completing the journey always drives me.
Please tell us about your art.
I make feelings. Music is easy. There are many much more talented than I that can make music, but music is dead if it has no soul, and the soul of music is its song. Where there is no song, there is no meaningful music. It’s just notes.
You create something unique every single day because you are unique, and anything you create will be in turn the most unique masterpiece ever created, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
Take notes, music, poems, and lyrics, and combine them into a song. There will be something never done before, and it will be beautiful because humanity is beautiful, and I bless you to be something beautiful as well, as you already are in this life.
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
Pressure to not be creative. Pressure to be marketable. Pressure to be something they’re not. Pressure to monetize, to brand, and to create a facade that you are only as good as your followers, your bank account, and your love life. You are more than this. Do not believe the lie.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
